The students have spoken and we are currently looking for teachers for the classes they most requested. If you have an interest in teaching one or more of the following classes log in, go to http://www.rawlearning.org/classinformationform, complete the webform, and submit it for approval. The deadline for webform submission is February 12th.
After approval and schedule confirmation, you can submit your Class Planning Form which is due before your teacher orientation the week of March 6-10th.

Bring a Valentine’s Box for each child to receive valentines
From Staunton and points north— From I-81 take the Rt. 612 exit (Verona Exit) east, or
From route 11 just north of Verona, turn east onto Rt. 612, across from Burger King.
Stay on 612, for 10-12 miles.
As soon as you cross South River, the Crimora Community Center is on your left.
From Charlottesville and points east, from I-64— Take Exit 96 (Lyndhurst Exit) and go north on Delphine Street.
After a mile of so you will cross 250E at the Hess Station and join 340 north.
Alternatively you can take Exit 99 at the top of Afton Mountain and get onto 250 West.
Go 3 miles to turn right at the Hess Station, 340 north.
From there it is 6 miles to Crimora.
Turn Left on Rt. 612 at the BP gas station.
Go about 1 mile crossing RR tracks. The center is on the right just after the RR tracks.
Field Trip Begins: 12:30 pm
Unfortunately, despite agreeing in mid December to be prepared to provide a hands on experience for the students, the Central Virginia Woodturners directors decided that they could not accommodate the field trip and decided to cancel. Gleamer convinced them to at least hold a demonstration and show and tell session instead so the field trip will happen.

Make sure you arrive at Raw Learning by 8:20 to be in class at 8:30.
Board Games: Learn to play Taboo, a word guessing game where the most obvious answers don't count. Enhance vocabulary and social skills. Other optional games today include Spot It, Checkers, and Spoons, as time and interest allow.
School Dance Committee: Students will get flyers printed and begin making decorations.
Gymnastics: Continue choreography for beam and floor routines.
Dog Behavior and Training: Canine health - demo an exam and discuss the importance of preventive care, good nutrition and environment enrichment. Signs of pain. It is very important to always rule out an underlying medical problem when working with a dog with a behavior concern
Sing and Play with Instruments: Buzz, Buzz, Buzz - brass instruments. Try out a trombone, trumpet, cornet, and other brass instruments
Roblox: Play "Roblox Studio"
Review the game: record our likes and dislikes and give tips and tricks
Start developing our own Raw Learning game
Minecraft: Technical Blocks: The class will learn about blocks that are unobtainable as items.
Outdoor Winter Survival: Gather at shelter, build fire, scavenger hunt and continue shelter building. Absolutely make sure your student is prepared for rain.
Spanish: Cooking. We will incorporate the food vocabulary we learned two weeks ago to cook some delicious empanadas!
Clay Sculpting and Pottery: Making magnets! Polymer clay magnets.
Cupboard Cooking Challenge: You pick!
Mammalian Dissection and Anatomy: Rat and mink abdomen; human model
Sewing Simply: Fabric Pins - Design your own Jewelry
Using scraps of fabric and batting, create your own heart shaped pin.
Winter Soups and Stews: Let's dive into the sea and make a yummy seafood stew
How to Craft Animals: Folding paper - create origami animals and/or items for habitats, fold together printed animals.
