*This is a great opportunity to meet the Raw Learning Community and find out about resources for child-led experiential learning in a mutually respectful community setting for homeschoolers, as well as about private school options to satisfy compulsory school attendance requirements. Or just come and hang out. That is fine too!
Bring: Canoes/kayaks (if you have them), life jackets for children signed up to do boating, change of clothes, swimsuit, towels, water shoes, water toys, sun hat, sunblock, picnic lunch, snacks, and lots of water or drinks.
Location: 96 Sherando Lake Road, Lyndhurst, VA 22952
Time:Arrive anytime between 9:30-2:00!! There will be availability to take turns using the shared boats (about 6) all day between enjoying the sun and sand. Boating will end at about 2:30.
Upcoming Field Trip: Tuesday, June 7th - Wednesday, June 8th
Bring: A tent and camping supplies. There will be opportunities for self-guided hikes, playing in the ocean, and fishing-bring appropriate gear. Bring enough food for supper Tuesday evening, and breakfast and lunch Wednesday along with lots of snacks.
Location: 2500 Shore Drive, VA Beach, VA 23451 (About 3.5 hours from Raw Learning)
Time: Check in – as early as 4pm, Tuesday, June 7th. Gleamer will be arriving at 6-6:30pm.

**Please RSVP let Gleamer know if you family would like to participate in the Seine Net Activity on Wednesday afternoon. The cost is $1-$2 for your entire family, depending on how many participate.

Memorial Day, No School
Cluck Cluck: Name the chicks, Scavenger Hunt
-Reminder: Students that participate in the class will have first choice of a chick to own and take home. It is highly recommended that students attend the majority of the classes so that they can be assigned a job in egg/chick care.
-Required: Students must be willing to take care of chicks during incubation and after they hatch. Each student will have a job that will require them to monitor the temperature and water level in the incubator and after hatching, the food/water and cleanliness of the brooder. Students not willing to take on these jobs, should not participate in class.
Pokemania:Learn about dragon types and draw yourself as a manga character!
Animation: Continue to work in Blender
Nerf Wars: Play your favorite games!
Wednesday: Field trip to Sherando Lake to experience boating!
Thursday: SPLASH PARTY! 11AM-2PM
Cluck Cluck: Take names for chicks, and savenger hunt for Thursday folks.
Mythological Creatures (10:15-11:15): Students will paint clay figurines and do pretend play with them.
Local Ingredient Challenge (12:15-1:15): During Splash Party! Use your imagination to assemble a treat with this food whose seeds are on the outside!
Nerf Wars (1:15-2:15): During Splash Party! Lots of games for all participants.
To Infinity and Beyond: Learn all about galaxies and make Galaxy Slime!
Arts and Crafts with Madison:Clam-I Am! Make a beach scene
Babysitting 101:Begin babysitting certification! The cost is $30. Sign up in advance on Red Cross website OR bring Carrie $30 on Friday. Certification will be worked on June 3rd and June 10th. It is for ages 11 and older. 4 hours long.
Coding with Minecraft: Continue working at an individual pace to earn badges.
The Great Bake Off: Bake cookies with gross ingredients!
