Peaceful Parenting Discussion Group
Are you seeking more joyful and harmonious relationships with your children?
If you are, come check out our discussion group that usually meets the 4th Friday of every month.
We meet to support one another as we explore and practice non-coercive parenting and consensual living. This is a parenting practice that values the wants and needs of everyone equally - regardless of age - and avoids power struggles through the creation of mutually agreeable solutions. This principle is also the key to harmony at Raw Learning.
We are all on our own unique paths as individuals, parents, and families.
We are reading and discussing Dr. Shefali Tsabary's The Conscious Parent.
During September we will focus on Chapter 8. This chapter focuses on helping children and youth manage their emotions and while keeping yourself grounded. Dr. Tsabary shares how we treat our children when they were little comes to fruition during their teen years.
You are welcome to come even if you didn't join for previous discussions. We listen to the book at the beginning of each Discussion Group. Parents are encouraged to think about what you have experienced and would like to share.
No worries that you missed the first two weeks! We welcome you to come visit for free and see if your family is a good fit in our mutually respectful learning community.
Raw Learning operates much like a co*op. Some parents and community members volunteer to facilitate and/or teach. Their children come for free or at a very reduced rate because of their volunteer credits. One of our guiding principles is that self directed community learning be available and affordable for every student.
We also welcome families who just want to pay and attend or drop their student off.
Raw Learning offers attendance that ranges from just joining as homeschoolers on field trips to full time enrollment in the private school and everything in between, even classes ala carte like an enrichment center. Whatever attendance works for your family, works for Raw Learning!
